The illusion of whistleblower protection
Richard Grove is an expert
salesman who decided to become a whistleblower concerning a backdoor in
the software he was selling that is allowing big companies to hide
fraudulent practices and still remain compliant with the new Sarbanes-Oxley
act of 2002.
Mr Grove tells his story in a
documentary titled 20/20
Hindsight: Censorship on the Frontline. What you learn is that current
whistleblower protection is a mere illusion and people like Richard
Grove ultimately get punished for having the courage to do the right
thing. This case also points out how broken and powerless the major
news reporting agencies are when it comes to shining a light on
something that will not increase their bottom line.
What's most impressive is how
Richard Grove has transformed this experience into something refreshing
and full of life with his website Tragedy and
Hope.com. His work with the Trivium and critical thinking is nothing less than incredible
and will be getting more of my attention in the immediate future.
