Heaven is space UFO dvd roadside sign

I've driven past this sign for years on the way to my mom's house and finally decided to stop and snap a few pictures of this road side work of art.

You can find it on State Route 23 in southern Ohio somewhere south of Chillicothe.

The title "Heaven is Space" feels somewhat cryptic to me. Is there a hidden invitation to join a secret UFO cult somewhere within this advertisement for Jeff Willes's 3 volume UFOs Over Phoenix DVD set and Mike Brumfield's new book?

The incredible and beautiful art of Paul Laffoley

What would have happened if Nikola Tesla and Wilhelm Reich got drunk one evening and decided to invent a new type of motor that would condense what they call Meta-energy from natural singularities into a single timed pulse of amplified psychokinesis?

Something fantastic with a capital F. The amazing painter, philosopher, and trained architect Paul Laffoley gives one a unique glimpse into what that world of occult technology might have looked like with his incredible masterpiece titled "The Orgone Motor".

To learn more about Mr Laffoley check out this excellent interview with Mike Hagen where they talk about his role in the World Trade Center design, his views on making a time machine and many other interesting topics.

Chinese Alchemy
It has often been said that alchemical secrets can be discovered within ancient drawings and paintings.

I feel like this ancient scroll drawing of Thai Hsuan Nu, a woman alchemist from China, holds a specific secret that might reveal itself if I study it long enough.

Miles, from the Holoplex blog and Infinity Hole podcast has just started a China adventure. You can read whatever he's able to sneak past the great firewall of China as it happens at his blog.

Jason R Dunn fights a Gorn

Jason R Dunn is an amazing artist, film maker, and inventor who is based out of Los Angeles. He's a man of the world who's brave enough to face down a pissed off Gorn with only his bare hands and a basic knowledge of chemistry. He's also the talent behind a stellar piece of art known as "Cosmic Ark", the space ship banner you see at the top of Cosmic Cookout. It's based on an old Atari 2600 game that I remember seeing from afar when I was a kid, but was more into titles like Pitfall and Decathalon at the time. The game was unique for its day due to the theme of saving aliens instead of blowing them up, which I feel resonates with the core mission here at Cosmic Cookout where questions and compassion are favored over control and domination.

Jason's blog is called Robot Rumpus, after a very funny short film he made about a difficult robot going to school for the first time. I would love to see this story of Kidbot go to the big screen someday. Other gems in his blog include some time lapse video of him doing one of his many digital oil paintings and artwork he's done for movies that seem to have gotten lost in a limbo known as the Hollywood dream.
